Another Lon Kruger/Tim Floyd hire for the Atlanta Hawks franchise. Lenny Wilkens needs to really come back already Sad. Bye bye J.J. ATL hardly knew ye. Drafted by Boston, went to PHX, demanded a trade from PHX cause he wanted to be " the man" and in came ATL. Took them to the playoffs 3 years straight {2 straight years of making it to semis) after a couple of seasons of ATL continuing a decade long time period of sucking and now he will go wherever he takes the 2010 FA train toot toot

Ugggh, I hate this
The Hawks can be soo cheap, I dont see any difference between him and Woody
If they were going to fire Woody they could have atleast hired a coach thats a notch higher then him..

Agree. They took the cheap way out. Doesn't mean that it's a bad hiring, though. Larry Drew could turn out to be a pretty solid coach. He's a point guard, so that usually means he's a player that understands the game. He was also a first round pick back in 1980, so he knows what it's like for players in the NBA, even star ones. He's played in the NBA Finals. He once had a 20 and 8 season playing for the Kansas City Kings. He's served as an assistant for the Lakers, Pistons, Nets, and Wizards, and he's been with the Hawks since 2004. He knows the team, and he knows the league. I really think that even though he's the cheap selection, he might be the right selection. Good and great coaches don't really ever come from nowhere, and usually coaches do better when their promoted from within the organization, at least in my opinion.

Oh God, I hope not...we're going to have to rely on rookies/younger players more as our key guys age...I'd rather have Brian Shaw coach than Scott.
