Les Habitants beat the Caps in Game 7 of Round 1... MAJOR UPSET!!!

Halak played out of his mind last two games, and denied the Capitals a chance to go to Round 2 for the second time in as many years. Quite possibly the biggest upset in recent memory for hockey. I know lower seeds do beat upper seeds more often, especially when a goalie starts to play lights out. But congrats to the Habs, and Caps still had one hell of a year! Just turn it up one more notch for next!!!

Les Habitants is the nickname for the Montreal Canadiens, the Yankees of the NHL. Here in Stateside and Canada outside of Québec, nickname is the Habs.

In Quebec, the NHL is referred to as the LNH since in French, the NHL literally translates to Ligue Nationale de Hockey.

From a basketball standpoint, if the NBA ever gets a team in Montreal if basketball becomes more popular in Canada. Though I think the word NBA will be enough, some of the French purists may refer to it as the ABN, since NBA in French is Association de Basket-ball Nationale.

lol. Caps are not the Yankees of the NHL. Not a lot of people hate them. Yankees have no one on their side because they've been so successul in the past and they have so much money. The Capitals have NOT been successful in the past. The real Yanks of the NHL are the Detroit Red Wings. I know a LOT of people who hate them and I barely know NHL. They have been extremely successful in the past, and like the Yankees, have been extremely good this decade as well.

No, he only made the playoffs each of the last three years, where we won the Division as well

Detroit has been the Yankees of the NHL for the last 10 years or so, but when you think all time, Montreal is easily the one, even though they didn't win a cup in the last 19 years.

So far he looks like it, but he's only 24. Lots of time ahead for the LeBron of hockey and the Ovie of basketball. Both have zero ships, but LeBron has more deep playoff runs, and Alex has more MVP's.
