But I digress. Last Saturday, Matthew Clemens, a 21 year old went with a friend to a Phillies game. Well in front of him is an off duty cop and his daughter. Matt and his friends got some beers and started having some loud fun, cussed the whole time in front of families, spilled beer on other fans, and one friend got ejected. I don't mind if someone spends $8 on a bottle of Bud, and you can let out a bomb and most parents won't glare, but don't do it every 10 seconds, dummy. Stadium rules "prohibit" cussing and it does get enforced. Really it does if you're with the wrong crowd. After Matt's friend was sent home Matt decided to stick his fingers down his throat and barf on the people in front of him, the off duty cop and his 11 year old daughter... The off duty cop was pissed but just stood there and even got punched in the face by Matt while other neighboring fans restrained and beat the crap out of him. Now this fan is ejected, arrested, and has a black eye. The Cop deserves a medal for showing restraint when I wouldn't, and that fan, well, no surprise. He's from JOYZEE! Cherry Hill, NJ, one of the richer parts of the state. And that whole part of JOYZEE is pretty preppy. I love going to a baseball game or two, but the thing I just LOATHE is when fans go there to get drunk after two or three innings. Go to a bar then! At least the drinks are cheaper! At least in basketball and hockey, there aren't as many drunkards since the game is quicker than baseball. Also baseball games are three to three and a half hours on average. | |
