Zone Defense is for pr0 coaches.

This is a discussion that came to a conclusion back in 1950...I mean seriously. Everyteam uses zone defense,Football and basketball. There was a coach back in the 40's who thought it wascowardly to play zone defense back in the secondary but its just caught on and everyone uses it.

Would you rather have one man destroying his defender every posession and dropping 85, or would you rather have some backup for the defender to force that player to take jumpshots?

Its just another method that might possibly improve the defense of a team.
It doesn't twist a rule or undermine anything, so I see nothing wrong with it.

False...zone causes a lot of TO's and problems for the the offence. My team actually plays zone, and it works very effectively.

The only problem with zone is that if one guy carries the team, most of the time they're drivers and zone struggles with stopping the drive (at least some variations of it) in which you have to switch to something like a Box And 1 EXTREMELY quickly.

But for the most part, zone is extremely effective unless a player is one of two things: an EXTREMELY and I mean EXTREMELY good driver or a lights out shooter.

Most zonez are for stopping the drive,tho.

What do you guys have against man to man defense?

zone is betterer.

I highly doubt the media's gonna rip on the winning team for using a zone defense. There's nothing wrong with it, it's just risky because teams might get hot when you play zone, so there's more to chances using a zone than some other defensive tactics,and in the end the losing team gets all the heat.

The Zone defense makes players to take jumper,it stops a certain player of scoring so much,it does have a help defense.
