Well, the race to 66th has begun guys!

the most notable matches today included these three matches:

1. #4 UConn beat #5 Northeastern 59-57 in Hartford
GREAT COMEBACK BY THE NU HUSKIES! If this game was in Massachusetts, no doubt they would've beaten the other Huskies.UConn is likely toast next round in my opinion.

2. #6 NC State beat #3 South Florida, 59-58 in Tampa

Well Sidney Lowe saves his job perhaps as the Wolfpack get a hard fought win.

3. #4 North Carolina beat #5 William and Mary, 80-72
Watched this match. W&M's three point shooting was unbelievable, 16-43. Nearly 75% of their shots were from three (60 shots total), and they almost got this win off. Carolina saves face by guaranteeing themselves a .500 record this year with a 17-16 record now. W&M prays they can keep Tony Shaver, and with him the CAA's top recruiting class.

North Carolina.vs.Mississippi State battling next round

Imagine UConn and UNC battling it out in the NIT. 2 teams that are used to competing in the bigger tournament may battle for an NIT title this time. It would be an interesing matchup

Dayton and Cincy was a pretty good game.

UConn and Virginia Tech made for a good game as well as the last Texas Tech-Ole Miss games

and UNC is going to the Final Four this year....just at the NIT and not NCAA tournament

UNC will legitimately salvage their season by winning the NIT this year. It can be a way to springboard a team into the final four or better next year!

UNC is tearin' it up, now in the NIT Finals ready to play Dayton for the championship for 66th place. Well, we knew that UNC if they put their heads out of their asses could do it, and I think they will. Assuming they win the ship this year in NYC, good chance they can really start building momentum next year, just like I said on the post above this one.

it's perfect the way it is, and we should leave it at that. If we expand I say only to 68 and add 3 more play in games for 16 seeds, but 65 is perfect and should stay that way

UNC defending National Champs have a chance to be NIT Champs. Dayton was in the NCAA Tournament and even upset West Virginia in the 1st Round last year

I thought the NIT would just be a waste for UNC but I've enjoyed to watch it, and it's helping alot in the development of some of the young players. The players and fans of UNC have been into it. John Henson has improved tremendously during the tournament and Tyler Zeller has played well throughout it.

The NIT has had a few exciting games this year.
