| Andre Iguodala and Lou Williams(or Kapono) for Ray Allen and 2 first rounders.
Here the rationale:
Based on talent alone, this is a terrible deal for the Sixers. Andre Iguodala is probably a better player than Ray Allen at this point in their careers and Iguodala is entering his prime. Throw in Lou Williams -- who can be a very solid bench player for the Celtics -- and the Celtics win the talent battle by a long shot. However; the Sixers have far more to worry about than receiving equal talent.
In this deal the Sixers have a chance to dump two of their longest contracts for an expiring, saving approximately 72 million. It'd be the first step in hitting the reset button and starting from scratch. That's where the two first-rounders come in. Even though they project to be relatively late first-rounders, draft picks are the best way to re-build -- something the Sixers desperately need to do.
Before you dismiss this deal out of hand, consider Marc Stein's report from earlier this week that the Sixers are looking to move salary in any way possible:
Iguodala, though, is difficult for Philly to move because of all that money he's still owed. Not as difficult as moving Elton Brand or Samuel Dalembert, but all of the teams that like Iguodala - Houston, Dallas and Cleveland are known to have shown varying degrees of interest - have reservations about taking on a deal that big.
The Celtics aren't worried about signing LeBron in the offseason and they don't have much hope of clearing cap space anytime soon, so why not take on salary if it upgrades the team for the present and future?
Losing Ray would be hard, but it might be worth it for a sweetheart deal like this.

| Umm...you do realize that Iggy wouldn't fit in the with the Celtics at all..right?
Ray Allen creates so many opportunities for the offense to open because of his ability to shoot. And it doesn't even matter if he isn't having a good shooting game, his presence alone opens up lots of lanes...
Ray Allen also always comes up big in the clutch... Whereas...Iggy can yeaaaaaaaah...
Iggy is a 32% shooter (or something like that) He was last in the league last year in % among people who attempted 200 3-pointers... So basically...he is a slasher...and the Celtics already have plenty of slashers...
Getting rid of Allen would leave them with no range except Peirce and maybe Rasheed. Sure their bench players can come in and knock some down...but no like Allen...
Iggy to the C's = Very bad deal for the Celtics Iggy to the C's = Very good deal for the 76ers

| Well Iggy imo fits in the Celtic's playing style, he is a very good Defender who still is developing,he has the athleticism we miss..imagine him with Rondo they will do great. He fills up the stats with great numbers, he is not the guy who will take 20shots pg and he is Clutch but we already got Pierce to take those shot he also heading to his prime.
I know that Ray Allen is like the perfect player for this Celtic team he fits like 1000% but well, he is expiring and he is 34, he isn't the same.We will also loose a 20m contract at the end of the season, then what?wait for KG and Pierce to expire and build again? This is probably what will happen but with Iggy we will stay contenders and dont need to rebuild again. Rondo,Iggy and Perkins will be our future.

| If you think Iggy will be as efficient as Ray Allen...you are sorely mistaken.. Iggy avgs 19 PPG with 15 shot attempts per game...
He is a good defender, but he is severely lacking on the offensive side. He has no jumpshot whatsoever...don't fool yourself with the FG%
He is NOT clutch One of the reasons the Cs are able to close it down towards the end of the game is because of the threat of Ray Allen.
And if you want Iggy to be your future....especially after having a team as great as the current one....then thats kinda sad...
Iggy as your 2nd option? :no
And do you really want Iggy's ridiculous contract? I realize he has potential...but damn....

| Allen is just a -1player at the Defense, Rondo should guard 2 guys just because Allen can't.i dont say he is lazy or w/e he just can't he is 34. Then when it comes to offense he is a "good" SG, i know so many "good" SG's. He didn't help us in 95% of the games, he won for us 1 game only this season if i remember well and was clutch vs the Blazers only. He hasn't help us this year at all, he is just doing his Job and pretty average imo.
If we get Iggy we save 20m Contract 1st of all, he got a ridiculus contract but well he hasn't reached his prime yet and he is better than Ray Allen even at this point of his Career, no doubt. And i bet we will do 2x times better than what we do with Ray, he is Beast, he can shoot the mid-range pretty easy and he is a average 3pt shooter (like Ray did anything this year). And yes our future can't be something better except Rondo, Iggy and Perkins.Im not saying it's good or bad but it's better than many other Franchise's. Next year the "BigThree" will be over, so what future are you talking about, with KG and Pierce?

| lol @ iggy shooting the mid-range easily... Chris..I'm not exaggerating here....Rondo has a better jumpshot than Iggy
And two players without range in the backcourt? Not gonna work...
If I were the Celtics...I would just let Allen's contract expire this year and get someone.... I'm willing to bet that they'll get someone better in the free agency than Iggy...

| Iggy has a good mid-range game, his shooting form is just weird. Rondo is not better lol not even Rose.. who said 2 player?Next year Rondo will hit the mid and 3pt like Kobe jk jk But he will improve for sure, he is rapidly improving the last 3 years. If we let Allen then we should w8 for KG and Pierce expire because it's the salary cap, if we let Allen we will still be over the salary and we can use the luxury cap only for players with bird years and we got none(nextyear). so no chances taking a good player. We also can't get a player with more than a 5.5m per year and that using our mid-contract, we will prolly take a player at the level of Sheed a 5m contract.. Better than Iggy? hell no. | |

| Andre Iguodala is terribly overrated. Like it has been said, his jumpshot is terrible. Very inconsistent. That's what Ray Allen does, it shoot.
Paul Pierce slashes and then passes to Ray Allen for 3. Money.
Paul Pierce slashes and then passes to Andre Iguodalas who....slashes.

| In the first post, you said two first rounders, and yes, I would do that in a heartbeat.
Celtics GM? Not so much...maybe as a re-building project, but as for right now, I would laugh in the face of whoever wants Ray Allen and two draft picks for Iggy...

| Why do i think that 76ers would never want a trade like this? Ray doesn't even shoot this year, if i wanted a shooter i would take Kapono or Q Rich they even play a bit diffence.
If we dont trade Allen now we are over for the next 4 years (except this year).
