| http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/chicago-bulls-confidential/2009/12/tyrus-thomas-for-al-harrington-discussed.htmlI think this is a good deal for my Bulls. Al Harrington has been lighting it up and playing really well for the Knicks off the bench this season. We need somebody who can score inside and Al Harrington is a guy that can do it. Tyrus Thomas has played better but has been a relative disappointment from where he was drafted and isn't going to carry the Bulls too much. Jerome James doesn't even play so giving him back to the Knicks is no loss. Tyrus Thomas is really injury prone and is still injured right now. I think trading Tyrus for Al Harrington would make us a better team and if we have the chance to do it we should pull the trigger. Al Harrington could score downlow where we need it the most. Our depth in the F/C positions is weak and that's an upgrade. PG Derrick Rose/Kirk Hinrich SG John Salmons/Jannero Pargo SF Luol Deng PF Al Harrington/Taj Gibson C Joakim Noah/Brad Miller We still lack depth but this trade helps BQ- What do you think of this trade for the Bulls? | |

| That's a bad deal. Thomas has a lot of potential and Harrington will slow down the offense, take bad shots, take shots away from Rose, and probably won't get along with the coach. | |

| Bulls are seriously looking to deal Thomas
this trade doesn't at all make sense for the Knicks since Thomas is a restricted free agent, and Al Harrington's contract ends at the end of this season
Thomas has potential but he's far too reach it, and won't ever be as good as he was supposed to be when we drafted him
Being that Al Harrington is in the last year of his contract if the Bulls can't find a better player like Boozer,or Bosh available I'd make this trade.
I think it would be good for the Bulls.

| I don't want Tyrus. I'd take Salmons & Noah for Harrington, maybe. But, the fact that they aren't expiring contracts makes me question things and why the fuck would we want to get Jerome Lurch James back. | |

| This season...I would like to keep him I mean he isn't a defender, but one thing he does really good is his o game. If kept on the cheap he would do wonders for the bench, especially if we reel in a pairing of any two of the following players: Joe Johnson, Rudy Gay, Chris Bosh, Michael Redd, etc. | |

| who would want Eddy Curry? for that matter, why trade one of the best statistical defenders for a ballhog who plays 0 defense? the Bulls should keep Thomas when he gets back from his injury. | |

| Wouldn't Harrington be a bad addition for the Bulls?
I thought he only cared about getting stats - so wouldn't that indicate that he doesn't care much about the future of the Bulls which is a franchise looking to progress? As well, since he is an expiring contract...he has no ties with the Bulls...so would that further encourage him to frig around? I dunno...just speculating here.

| Exactly what is NYK doing?
Are they trying to get a record worse than the nets?

| Harrington would come in looking to put up big numbers and not much else. Its a contract year for him, and he'll definitely be playing like it. IDK much about Tyrus Thomas' effort, but he's only a restricted free agent, and the team most likely to be paying him next season, is the Bulls, so if he wants a bigger contract, he'll be playing for the team, and not for himself. | |

| I don't think Al cares about stats I actually think he does care about winning in NY and staying there and I wouldn't mind keeping him only if he takes a pay-cut though. He's from NJ and always respected the Knicks it was like a dream come true for him to be traded to NY. Anyways, I know he isn't the defender that he was when he was billed as one and came into the NBA as one in Indiana. He got lazy and caught up in the fast paced game in his regard. However, he is a good rebounder and a great offensive player he is just so skilled offensively and he can put the ball on the floor with ease he can beat you from anywhere and has been quite efficient this season. I mean he leads all 6th Men in PPG, put up 2 40 point double-doubles off the bench, and shoots the ball at 45% taking only 15 attempts per game. I mean I understand he isn't a prime defender and he isn't exactly a player built for crunch time, but if kept in his capacity he'd be a prime time player to have off as a 6th Man, especially if NY gets anybody good come 2010. | |

| LMFAO @ Al Harrington caring about winning in NY LMFAO @ Al Harrington not caring about only his stats LMFAO @ Al Harrington being a good rebounder
And if he was from NJ...why would it be a dream come true for him to be traded to NY?

| NJ has more Knicks fans than Nets fans it's a common fact. It's always been like this.
Al Harrington has been doing and saying all the right things which is why I think he wants to win and he publicly stated, "I love NY & want to stay." He then went on about he wouldn't welcome playing for the Bulls.
6 RPG is pretty damn good and he's placed double-doubles in rebounding this year
Taking 15 shots per game and connecting on 45% of them is what I call efficient. 20 PPG as a bench player, 2 40 point double-doubles is also what I call efficient. As a 6th Man he is more efficient as the starting PF. Same scoring stat line, but off the bench he plays much better.

| 6 rebounds for a big man who gets pretty good minutes is not good..
Especially when you consider that he plays in a fast paced offense...where there are more shots....which means there are more missed shots...which means there are more rebounds to grab...
He's not a good rebounder and defender.... Only thing he has is shooting....
Very average player.....nothing special..

| Al wants more money. When he gets it, then he may care about winning. For the time being, I'm sold on the fact that hes looking to get paid going into a contract season. If he doesn't want to leave New York, its for solely two reasons:
1. Fast pace=more points, and a system that suits him
2. He knows the area better from growing up in New Jersey
That being said, I doubt he minds being traded if he could still put up nice numbers with Chicago.

| Man Knicks-Bulls should make swap-backs...
NY gets Kirk Hinrich & Tyrus Thomas & CHI gets Chris Duhon & Eddy Curry.
