East:

. Boston, Cleveland, Orlando, Atlanta, and Washingtons' spots are all secured.
. Detroit and Chicago will be fighting to maintain there playoff spots of a year ago.
. Philadelphia and Miami will fail to make the playoffs

. Toronto, New York, Indiana, Charlotte, and even New Jersey will all be part of a tight race in battling to grab as less as 2, possibly 3, and at most 4 of the last playoff spots.

. Milwaukee is the only team in the East that will be well into the lottery.


West:

. San Antonio, Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas, Denver, Portland, and Utahs' spots are all secured
. Houston will be battling to just make the playoffs if they even can
. New Orleans will miss the playoffs.

. Phoenix is the only realistic non-playoff team of last season that can manage to find their way back into the post-season.

. Unrealistic chances of a playoff birth include: Memphis, Oklahoma City, and Golden State
. Sacramento, Minnesota, and Los Angeles Clippers will be well into the lottery.
