| He's 2 3pointers away from Reggie's record and unless he gets injured and never plays again he will pass him.
So is he now officially?

| He made (or is really close to) making the most threes in NBA history. Reggie Miller was also a hell of a shooter, but he didn't shoot as many threes in proportion to his total amount of shots like Ray has. The three point shot I believe is a shot that is being shot a lot more today in proportion to the '90's and the '80's. | |

I agree. Ray has been the best three pointer shooter well before breaking this record. One of my biggest reasons is that Ray created his three pointers off the dribble, covered, off fast breaks (like 3 on 1 breaks)... which is usually frowned upon, but he is so good at it that its practically a layup.... Ray always could get his shot off without screens because his shooting point and release are high and quick. Miller always needed screens... sometimes double screens. Hell he usually had to weave through enough people to get open to get a clean shot. Allen uses screens too of course, but he uses them far far far less than Reggie did. Obviously Reggie was still a deadly deep shooter. So I'm not taking anything away from Miller, but Ray Allen is just a more versatile deep threat.

| I agree with Visa and Nick. I've thought that Ray was better than miller for a while now.
I think I even argued that on here before haha

No, well not nearly as much as Ray... Nash is a better 3pt shooter than Ray and Miller IMO. He has shot above 40% from 3pt for 12 STRAIGHT SEASONS, and has only shot below 40% from 3 once in his career( 37% in '99). Ray is only considered better just 'cause he hit more 3's... but if Nash took as many threes as Ray and Miller he'd be #1 in 3pts made all time.. :/

:/ As much as Ray. In fact, Allen uses screens more now as part of the Boston offensive plays. Before that, Allen was more of a one on one player... and shoot far more without screens than Nash. YAY!!! Here come the percentages. If he shot as frequently as Allen and Miller would he have the same percentage? What Nash was the first option on offense (ever....) and a player that through most of his career was the focus of defenses? Based on your percentages Tim Legler, Jason Kapono, Hubert Davis, Steve Kerr and Anthony Morrow are all better 3pt shooters than Nash, Miller and Allen. GTFOH.

Do you realize how dumb that statement was? Ray Allen just accomplished one of the greatest feats you can ever have as a shooter, a record that won't be broken for a long time (Jason Kidd is in 3rd Place...), and you act like it was no big deal. Sorry that your team didn't shine under the spotlight, but Ray Allen deserved this moment more than anyone else and you can only be happy for him. Have some respect for the game - Ray Allen is one of the classiest guys in the NBA and he just accomplished something no one else has ever done. I just have no fucking idea how that pissed you off.

I know! He just set a record that isn't going to be broken for a loooooooong time (if ever) and he and his teammates are happy about it? Douchebags...how dare they be happy that the greatest 3-point shooter in NBA history now owns the record for most 3-pointers made...

I really agree with that part. Ray allen is a great dude that broke a great record.. I don't see anything wrong with the way they celebrated it.
